What is the intersection of well-being, diversity, equity, and inclusion?Â
Thriving at work and in life is inseparable from identity, belonging, and equitable treatment. Well-being and DEI strengthen one another:
🌿 When well-being is prioritized, organizations are more inclusive, equitable, and open to diverse perspectives.
🌿 When diversity is celebrated and equity is practiced, individuals experience greater well-being and stronger community connections.
Forward-thinking organizations understand: a truly diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture is always grounded in well-being.
As a voice for wellness as racial justice, Janet held daily Meditations for the Racial Justice Journey on Facebook Live from June 1 - 30, 2020. She started the mediations after the killing of George Floyd in order to create a time of refuge and renewal for people working for racial justice. These meditations are a rest stop on the journey for racial justice and on any life's journey. Check them out on Janet's YouTube page.
After years of a casual yoga practice, Janet began to study yoga seriously as a way to manage her chronic pain. Through her yoga practice, Janet has experienced a healing journey that continues today. On the mat Janet is both student and teacher. Her practice provides an ongoing landscape of learning about patience, strength, surrender, fear, compassion, and ultimately, self-love. In recent years she has incorporated Intuitive Reiki, EFT (Tapping), and Breath Awareness in her practice. In her teaching she meets each student where they. Janet has a passion for making yoga accessible to people regardless of age, lack of income, race, gender, or ability.
Janet is a certified wellness coach and yoga teacher (RYT 200-hour) and the owner of ULoveU Yoga. She received Angel Reiki certification under the direction of Julie Jancius. Janet is currently completing her 800-hour certification in yoga therapy and Science of Mindful Awareness (SOMA) under the direction of Deborah Norris, PhD, C-IAYT, founder and director of The Mindfulness Center, and James Folks, C-IAYT.
