Values Exercise


The thought of discovering your purpose can feel intimidating, especially if you think that you have one true purpose for your entire life. But for most people, your sense of purpose unfolds and evolves over a lifetime. As you experience different phases of your life, you will encounter new and distinct ways to grow and find meaning.

Clarifying your core values is crucial for navigating the changeable landscape of your life. If narrowing down your top five core values feels challenging, keep in mind that not selecting a value doesn’t mean you’re rejecting it. Instead, the goal is to focus on the values that matter most to you right now. Once you have that clarity, your values can serve as a compass to guide your decisions and actions in an intentional way.

This values exercise will help you uncover the priorities, passions, skills, and interests that create your core values and serve as your internal compass. As you interact with the values cards, you consciously take steps toward living a life that reflects what matters most to you.

This exercise also helps to identify shared values within a community or team. Uniting around a shared set of values helps individual members feel connected, motivated, and supported.
